These components are designed for transmission technology accordingto CAT6A and 500 MHz/10 Gigabit, and are standardised to IEC 61076-2-109. These X-code connectors have 4 shielded pairs, for reliable high speed data transfer, and industrial grade materials for harsh environments, all in the small M12 connector. The current product range includes patch cables in the standard lengths of 1, 2, 5 and 10 m as well as a female socket with pc tails for panel mounting.

Sealed Mini-USB connectors for machine tool, automation, automotive and other extreme environment applications…

CONEC has expanded its bayonet-locking and water-resistant series of connectors with a Mini-USB connector compliant with USB 2.0 specifications. The new Mini-USB connector provides design engineers a highly reliable option for the harshest environments. This connector is part of CONEC’s expansive IP67-rated family widely used in industrial production, food/beverage, chemical controllers process, outdoor wireless, Bluetooth adapters, diagnostic and test instruments, oil/gas and factory automation applications.

“The expanded use of the USB interface has significantly impacted the packaging and options available in various USB connector types,” said Peter Persico, technical support specialist at CONEC. “In order to address the harsh environment industry, CONEC expanded its IP67 family to include these Mini-USB connectors that are robust enough to withstand the most extreme environments.”

CONEC’s water-resistant Mini-USB products feature robust internal components housed in black plastic with a bayonet locking-ring method. Compared to threaded connections, the bayonet feature provides a fast assembly, and audible ’snap’ indicating the connectors are securely mated and therefore watertight. The bayonet feature is compact at just 12mm diameter, and vibration resistant. The interface meets IP67 requirements when a mating connector is inserted or when covered with a secured protective cap.

The Mini-USB connector contacts are phosphor bronze and gold-plated with a contact resistance rated at a maximum 50m? and insulation resistance of 100m?. Current ratings are 1.0A maximum at 25°C, and operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +80°C.

The product line includes a panel receptacle which may be PCB-mounted or used with a flex circuit, protective caps and pre-terminated jumper cables with an overmolded Mini-USB type B plug. The patch cables are available in various lengths (2, 3 & 5 meter standard lengths) and are terminated to an overmolded USB Type A standard plug.

The IP67 Mini-USB connectors ensure a watertight connection securely sealed against dust and environmental ingress.

On August 18, 2011 we celebrated with our staff and invited guests, our 33 years (1/3 of a century) of being in business and our large expansion at our Lippstadt factory. The celebration took place in the new addition of the factory. The building was decorated to support the festivities to make this a fantastic affair. Together with our staff, customers, suppliers and personal friends of Mr. Carl and family, we celebrated the official opening of the enlarged factory and the 1/3 of a century existence of Conec. The Management team from Conec Lippstadt, our Canadian Managing Director, Dolphy Schwarz and our Managers representing our various operations outside Germany were in attendance to complete the Conec Family.

The new addition to the existing building is 2.500 square meters in size and is fully air conditioned and operational. With the addition, Conec’s facility in Lippstadt has grown to a total size of 13.000 square meters

New diecast coupling ring internal and external thread, external knurled for finger grip, and hexagon section for torque tightening, now available on overmoulded cable assemblies and field attachable types in the M8×1 and M12×1 connector series.

The coupling ring has been enhanced by incorporating a hexagon section in addition to the knurled finger grip portion. This feature allows the installation using wrench type SW13 for use with M12×1 and SW9 for use with M8×1 type connectors.

This enhancement allows the connectors to be installed in tight spaces where finger tightening may not be possible. A torque wrench can be used to tighten the connectors. CONEC offers suitable torque wrenches.

The existing part numbers remain. The older type design is still available. Please contact the factory for details.
